Jesus said in John 10:10, "I came that you might have life and have it abundantly." There is irony in the fact one who was born with a sentence of crucifixion would speak so much about life. Yet, death and life are the crux of the gospel message. One must die to live. To experience the joys of resurrection we must experience the agony of death. This Sunday, Easter Sunday, as our world remains shell-shocked from the COVID-19 outbreak, we remember the words of the One who has been given the keys to life and death, the One who must reign until the final enemy is defeated (1 Corinthians 15:25). The One who said we must die in order to live again. We must be dead to sin, but alive to God.
